Pool safety
To keep children safe in pool setting owners should adhere to two main
rules of pool safety:
• Never leave children unattended in a swimming pool
• Use barrier devices, such as covers and fences, or alert systems
Children are not the only ones susceptible to accidents. Pool safety
includes keeping the pool area free of objects, such as toys or bottles,
which could cause dangerous falls. Also, electrical devices should never
be kept near a pool. Swimming during storms should be avoided as well.
Pool Safety also means being prepared for when accidents do occur:
• Keep a telephone poolside to call for help immediately
• Learn CPR
• If a child is missing check the pool first
